According to the available information received, On 29th September a school called ‘Kalorex School’ at Ghatlodia in Ahmedabad organised a cultural program on the occasion of Eid where small Hindu students were made to wear clothes used for namaz. During this time they were also taught to offer the Namaz. This entire program was conducted without the permission of the parents. Hindu organisations and parents protested in front of the school against the incident and demanded that the principal should resign. The parents of this school have considered removing their children from this particular school. The district Education Officer of Ahmedabad, Rohit Chaudhary has sent a notice to the school in this matter and sought an explanation. In view of the growing opposition, the school has issued a written apology on the matter.

Editorial Perspective

In case a Hindu school asked a Christian or Muslim child to worship according to Hinduism, then there would have been threats against the school and agitations under the false claims of ‘Saffronisation of education’, ‘Murder of democracy’ and ‘Scourge on minorities’.
