Violence erupts in Manipur after the killing of 2 students belonging to Hindu Meitei community

Imphal (Manipur) – Violence has erupted in Manipur to protest the killing of 2 missing students of the Hindu Meitei community. A BJP office in Thoubal District was set on fire by a mob. Also, the house of BJP State President Sharda Devi was vandalised in Imphal. The Police have detained 1,697 people in connection with incidents related to violence. CBI Special Director Ajay Bhatnagar along with his team has reached Imphal in the case of student’s murder.

Violent clashes broke out between protesters and security forces in many places, including the capital Imphal. Police fired tear gas to disperse the crowd. Many students were injured in this. 50 people have been injured in the protests in Imphal in the last 2 days. Most of them are students.
