Actor Kamal Haasan backs Udhayanidhi’s anti-Sanatan Dharma statement

Chennai – Actor Kamal Haasan reacted to Udhayanidhi Stalin’s statement against Sanatan Dharma with a post on X (formerly known as Twitter). He said, “Udhayanidhi Stalin is entitled to express his views on Sanatan Dharma. If you disagree with his viewpoint, it’s important to engage in a discussion based on the merits of Sanatan Dharma instead of resorting to threats of violence or legal intimidation tactics, or distorting his words to evoke emotional responses for narrow political gains”. (Why doesn’t Kamal Haasan ever encourage open discussion when someone expresses views against Islam and faces threats of ‘Sar Tan Se Juda’ (beheading)? Why has Haasan remained silent on cases like Nupur Sharma’s and Kanhaiyalal’s beheading, not uttering a single word ? – Editor)

Kamal Haasan went on to say, “The hallmark of a true democracy is the ability of its citizens to disagree and engage in continued discussion. History has repeatedly taught us that asking the right questions has led to important answers and contributed to our development as a better society”.
