President invites leaders of the Nations participating in the G20 Summit for dinner Congress fumes |
New Delhi – The G20 Summit will be held from 9th – 10th of September. The President’s English invitation sent to the Heads of Nations participating in the summit reads ‘President of Bharat’. Actually, until now it used to be, ‘President of India’, but for the first time it has been written ‘President of Bharat’. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has criticised this move in his tweet.
Jairam Ramesh says, according to Section 1 of the Constitution ‘India’ is called ‘Bharat’. It will be a federation of states, but now there is an attack on the Federation of these states. (Until now, there have been more than 100 amendments to the Constitution. The Nationalists feel that the Government should make this amendment too. – Editor)
So the news is indeed true.
Rashtrapati Bhawan has sent out an invite for a G20 dinner on Sept 9th in the name of ‘President of Bharat’ instead of the usual ‘President of India’.
Now, Article 1 in the Constitution can read: “Bharat, that was India, shall be a Union of States.”…

Assam’s Chief Minister tweeted – ‘Republic of Bharat’
A few minutes after Jairam Ramesh’s tweet, Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, ‘Republic of Bharat’ is experiencing Happiness and Pride. Our culture is speeding in the direction of ‘Amrut Kaal’ (Bharat has completed 75 years of Independence and this period is called ‘Amrut Kaal’)
REPUBLIC OF BHARAT – happy and proud that our civilisation is marching ahead boldly towards AMRIT KAAL

Editorial Viewpoint
India is a name given by the British, hence it is a symbol of enslavement. It was expected that it would change after Independence and only one name that is ‘Bharat’ be declared as our nation’s official name. Now if the Government makes the change and names the Nation ‘Bharat’ it will definitely anger the Congress, the anglicised party. |
