Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) – “There are Idols of Deities inside the Gyanvapi. We did not keep those Idols. If Gyanvapi is called a ‘Mosque’ then it can become a controversy. This is nothing but a historical mistake. Let those to whom God has given the vision, see why is there a Trishul inside the Mosque. We have not placed it”, said the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath (Photo inset) in an interview to ANI.
Muslims should submit a proposal
Yogi Adityanath added, “There is a Jyotirlinga inside the Gyanvapi, there are Idols of Deities, and finally what does the architecture on the walls signify ? What I feel is that the Muslim community should get together and submit a proposal saying that this is a historical mistake and we need a solution to correct this mistake”.
Do we want the entire country to become like Bengal ?
Yogi Adityanath also criticised the violence that took place during the Panchayat elections in Bengal. He said, “I have been the UP Chief Minister for the past six and a half years and there has not been any riots in Uttar Pradesh. Those who talk big can see for themselves how we hold elections in Uttar Pradesh. Bengal also had its elections recently. Have you seen what happened there ? Do you want our entire country to become like Bengal ? Some people want to come to power and control the entire system by force. People of opposition parties have been murdered in Bengal. However, no one speaks on such issues. The ones trying to murder Democracy are the ones who keep praising it. Everyone is silent on what happened in Kashmir in 1990. Why this bias ?”
