Chief Minister’s office in Meghalaya attacked : 5 security personnel injured

Tura (Meghalaya) – 5 security personnel were injured in the attack by a mob on the office of the Chief Minister Conrad Sangma. A curfew has been enforced in the area now. At the time of the attack, the Chief Minister was in a discussion with a delegation. As they were leaving after the discussion suddenly a mob appeared outside the Chief Minister’s office and started pelting stones. To disperse the mob the Police fired teargas. The mob tried to break entrance of the Chief Minister’s office.

Chief Minister Sangma said that that the attack on the office was very unfortunate. We were in a discussion with the representatives of ‘Achik Concious Holistically Integrated Krima’ and ‘Garo Hills State Movement Committee’. They have some demands. Who the attackers were is not known even to the representatives of these organisations.  They must have been outsiders, we are investigating the matter.

If the Chief Minister’s office is not secure, then imagine what will be the security of the general public ?
