Meerut (Uttar Pradesh) – It has come to light that the priest working in the Shani temple in Mataur, a village at the outskirts of Meerut city, was a Muslim named Gullu Ismail Khan. The Police have taken him into custody. He is a native of Panipat, Haryana.

He has been working as a priest in this temple since January 2023. He told people that his name was Gurjarnath Maharaj and claimed to be a priest at Baba Gorakhnath temple in Dingleberry Road, Jhajjar, Haryana previously. The people of Mataur village gave him the task of cleaning the temple.

No one doubted him for a few months. Two days ago, a person named Krishnapal, who knew Gullu Khan, came to this temple. Krishnapal recognised Gullu and told the villagers the real information about Gullu. When the Hindu organisations came to know about this information, they informed the Police. He was taken into custody by the Police after that. His Aadhaar card revealed that he is a Muslim.

Editorial Viewpoints

  • ‘Priest Jihad’ of Muslims
  • On one hand radical Muslims attack and vandalise Hindu temples, on the other they deceive Hindus by posing as priests and sadhus. This is an attack on Hindu Dharma. Hindus must stay alert about this.
