Raising children in polluted environment is unacceptable !

Supreme Court Judge Nath’s statement on pollution

New Delhi – Pollution levels in Delhi are rising day by day. It is unacceptable for our children to grow up in an environment where they have to wear masks even to play outside and worry about respiratory ailments at an early age. I am worried about the state of the rivers in the country. They are full of dirt. When I look at the banks of these rivers, I remember the old memories. This water was once very alive and pure. Justice Nath of the Supreme Court expressed regret that he was speaking at the inaugural function of the ‘National Environment Conference – 2025’ at Vigyan Bhawan here, where President Draupadi Murmu was the chief guest.

Justice Nath further said –

It is important to treat industrial waste, enhance sewage infrastructure and encourage local communities to maintain cleanliness on the river.

Since its inception in 2010, the National Green Tribunal has emerged as a ray of hope. It has played an important role in resolving environmental disputes. The government should promote green technology. Industries should be careful about their environmental footprints.

We must come together to regulate emissions, invest in clean technology, and provide sustainable transportation options, so that the air we breathe is not compromised.
