G Parameshwara, Karnataka Home Minister
Tumkuru (Karnataka) – “By the grace of Allah, Congress led Government has come to power in the State. I became the Home Minister with your blessings. Without God’s grace, I would not be a MLA,” said Home Minister G Parameshwara. On the occasion of Bakri Eid, he wished Muslims by participating in the mass prayer held at the Eidgah Maidan in Koratagere village. At that time, Muslims offered him a round cap and expressed their best wishes saying ‘May he get the post of Chief Minister’.

Parameshwara further said, “Bakri Eid is a symbol of sacrifice. It is said that ‘Allah tests us in different ways’. I came here during Ramadan. Since there were elections then, I came to ask for votes and you made me win. Somewhere Muslims were worried because of the previous Government. There was atmosphere of fear. Leaving all that, Muslims voted for Congress. Congress is a secular party, so Muslims are standing with us. I am grateful to them. We have a great responsibility. Peace should be maintained along with development. As Home Minister, I will work to maintain peace. Will not incite hate.”
