The Court observed that Hindus had to face an unnecessary trial due to the pressure exerted by pseudo-secular media and organisations

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) – The Sessions Court at Halol in Gujarat acquitted 35 Hindus accused in 4 different cases related to the 2002 Gujarat riots.
Initially, 52 people were accused of which 17 died during the pendency of trial that went on for over 20 years. Harsh Balkrishna Trivedi, Additional Sessions Judge said while giving the verdict that Police framed prominent Hindu individuals like doctors, professors, teachers, businesspersons, Panchayat officials etc. and the accused had to face an unnecessarily prolonged trial under pressure from pseudo-secular media and organisations. The statements of supposed victims of the riots recorded in front of different officials turned out to be inconsistent. They could not submit appropriate proofs mentioned in the charge sheet.
