Shri Durgadevi’s Idol vandalised in a temple at Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh

Bareilly (UP) – In Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly, an incident has come to light, where miscreants entered into a temple and broke the Idol of Durga Mata. The intruders broke the Idol’s fingers and chakra. They also took off the crown of the Idol and threw it on the ground. Hindu organisations rushed to the spot and condemned those who had broken the Idol. The priest of the temple filed a Police complaint, following which the Police have registered the case and investigation has been launched.

This incident took place in Rithora village of Bareilly on 23rd May 2023. According to Nirman Singh, priest of the temple, “When I came to the temple for worship in the morning, I noticed that the Idol of Durga Mata had been vandalised. I also found that the flag planted in the temple was also uprooted and thrown away”.

Singh, with the help of the locals, lodged a complaint in Hafizganj Police station. Locals have strongly condemned the incident and demanded a strong action against the accused.

Police informed that they were trying to identify the accused.
