NIA raids various places in Kashmir

Raids on banned Jamaat-e-Islami locations

Srinagar (J&K) – The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids at various places in Budgaon and Baramulla Districts of Jammu and Kashmir. It has been found out that Jamaat-e-Islami, a banned political party, is providing finance to the terrorist organisations to carry out terrorist activities. Raids were conducted for the next level investigation. In this case, the NIA has filed a charge sheet against four individuals in the Patiala Court of Delhi.

On the 4th of May also, NIA had raided at 16 places. At that time, raids were conducted at 11 places in Baramulla District and 5 places in Kishtwar District. The illegal items were confiscated during the raids.

The NIA had received information that Jamaat-e-Islami activists are collecting donations from people in the name of carrying out health and educational activities and using it for terrorist activities. This organisation receives funds from abroad also. This party supports terrorist organisations such as Hizbul Mujahideen, Lashkar-e-Toiba. etc.

The party was banned for 5 years in February 2019, under the ‘Unlawful Activities Prevention Act’.
