Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) – The Kerala High Court has accepted a petition filed in connection with the famous Thirumandhamkunnu Bhagavathy Temple located at Angadipuram in Malappuram. Hindu Aikya Vedi filed the petition challenging Muslims’ appointment to key posts in the pooram organising committee for the temple festival. During the period of 28th March to 7th April, the temple will hold its festival.

- According to local media, Indian Union Muslim League MP Abdussamad Samadani is the main patron of this committee and the Chairman of the committee is MLA Manjalamkuzhi Ali.
- According to the website ‘Verdictum’, which disseminates legal information, the Secretary of ‘Hindu Aikya Vedi’ PV Muralidharan said that the Utsav Samiti has been set up against the rules of the Devaswom Board. According to the board, only Hindus can be appointed on the key position in the committee.
