During many Hindu festivals such as Ganeshotsav, the Pollution Control Board takes hourly pollution records, which are published on its website, but there is massive noise pollution from mosques 5-times-a-day all the year, as well as pollution during Bakri Eid, Muharram and other religious festivals.
In this regard, a delegation of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti met the officials of Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) at their Sion (Mumbai) office to demand the immediate suspension of all concerned officials of MPCB who are biased against Hindus and misusing the Anti-Pollution law only during Hindu festivals. HJS has demanded in a representation that the MPCB conduct a survey across Maharashtra, prepare its report and publish it on their website. HJS has also demanded that appropriate legal action be taken against the offences committed as per this report. HJS submitted a representation to the Joint Director of Air Pollution Control Board, Dr VM Motghare. He assured that he would respond in fifteen days.
