Islamabad (Pakistan) – In the last 23 years, 5 to 8 thousand people have gone missing in Baluchistan. Baluchistan in Pakistan has been fighting for its freedom from Pakistan for decades. The Baloch people are constantly being prosecuted by the Pak army. June 8th marks the 14 years of the disappearance of Baloch student leader Zakir Majid. On this occasion, protests were held in front of the Press Club in Quetta Baluchistan, led by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP).

Islamabad High Court has issued notices to all former officials from the current Shahbaz government including former President Pervez Musharraf. Court ordered to investigate exactly how many people are missing.
1. Among the missing, the highest number is of the activists fighting for Baluchistan. Baloch nationalist activists are also opposing the China-Pakistan economic project for their civil rights.

2. Norwegian human rights activist Ehsan Arjemandi, who came to Pakistan to investigate the abduction in Baluchistan Province, was also ill-treated. He was arrested illegally and tortured. Arjemandi said He reached Baluch on 31st July 2009, He was then banned from traveling hence he could not finish his investigation. On 6th August he boarded a bus to Karachi at Mand. 7th August morning, he was thrown out of the bus by the Pakistani forces between Baluchistan and Sindh.
