Bhubaneswar (Odisha) – The Church at Geluta in Odisha’s Bhadrak District was sealed by the Administration on the 24th of May. The District Administration took this step after getting numerous complaints about the conversion of tribals. Section 144 has been imposed in the area. Orders have been given against congregations of more than 3 individuals in the area near the Church.

Bhadrak’s Sub Collector Manoj Patra said that complaints were received of Tribals’ conversion to Christianity. Investigation revealed that there was fighting and tension between the two communities.

Editorial viewpoint

Hindus may demand that the Administration inquire if this happens in all the churches and if so investigate and take similar action against the offending churches.
