There are the remains of over 27 temples in the Qutub Minar, no one can deny this fact  : H.H. (Adv.) Hari Shankar Jain

Hearing on whether worship can be offered in the Qutub Minar complex

Varanasi (UP) – There are the remains of over 27 Hindu and Jain temples in the verandah of the Qutub Minar. H.H. (Adv.) Hari Shankar Jain when speaking to the news channel ‘AAJ TAK’ said that “We have so much evidence, that nobody can refute them.’ On the 24th of May, the Court will hear the petition requesting permission for Hindus to offer their prayers at this place. H.H. (Adv.) Hari Shankar Jain was questioned on this backdrop.

H.H. (Adv.) Hari Shankar Jain further said,

1. All the figures you see to the south of the Qutub Minar, near the Iron Pillar, are the remains of temples. You can easily see such statues in Hindu temples. He claimed that the entire verandah was made from the remains of the temples.

2. He claims that all the evidence he has provided has been taken from the books of ASI. He said the ASI says that these are the remains of temples. He further added that both Jains and Hindus used to worship on these temple premises.

3. Hindus and Jains should not be considered separate entities, because Idols of Hindu Deities would be present in Jain temples and people used to worship them. Hindu temples would be built close to Jain temples. The Qutub Minar is an ideal example of this.

4. I would like to ask the Court based on this evidence that people should be allowed to offer their worship here. He said, whatever has happened here earlier cannot be changed but the right to worship should be given.
