Pakistani soldiers loot a petrol station in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir !

Protests against the Pakistani Government and military continue across the region

Islamabad (Pakistan): Public anger against the Pakistani Government and military in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) continues to intensify. For the past 20 days, thousands of people have been protesting in several parts of the region. During this period, personnel of Pakistan’s security forces (Pakistani Rangers) arrived at a petrol station in Rawalakot. They assaulted the staff working there. After threatening the employees, the soldiers looted fuel (petrol and diesel) and ₹3 lakh (Pakistani rupees) in cash. The incident has sparked strong anger among local residents.

According to media reports, an estimated 70,000 protesters are demonstrating in different parts of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir against the Pakistani Government and military. The demonstrators say they have been driven to protest by soaring inflation, unemployment, the electricity crisis, administrative corruption and oppression by the military.

The growing public unrest in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir is emerging as a major challenge for the Pakistani Government. The continuing protests indicate that discontent among the local population is steadily deepening.
