Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): A shocking incident took place in Badnagar on the night of 23 June, when a four-wheeler was suspended 40 feet above the ground by a crane and deliberately blown up during a Muharram procession passing through Adan Gali. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media. The vehicle had been suspended about 40 feet above the ground with the help of a crane. Two young men stood on the vehicle waving red flags. It was then deliberately blown up in an explosion. The words “Le Phir Aa Gaye” (“Look, we’re back”) were written on the vehicle. After the video went viral, Saint Swami Shivanand Giri of Haridwar objected to the incident. He wrote on social media, “This video appears to convey the message, ‘We will similarly blow up the vehicles of kafirs (those who do not follow Islam).'”

Ritesh Maheshwari of Hindu Jagran Manch said that a four-wheeler had been suspended from a large crane during the Muharram procession. Several objectionable banners had been displayed on it. He demanded that the district administration investigate the matter.

Case registered against four persons !

Ujjain Additional Superintendent of Police Karandeep Singh said that a case has been registered against the procession organiser Shoaib Khan; Talim Khan and Zahid Khan, who were waving flags on the vehicle; and the owner of the crane. All four will be arrested soon.

Editorial Perspective

• Isn't this an open act of provocation ? Hindus should understand exactly what message is being conveyed to religious fanatics through such an act !
• Were the police asleep while the vehicle was hanging 40 feet in the air ? Why did they not object to this and stop it ? Hindus do not expect such incidents in BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh !
• Do the human rights activists, secularists, communists and rationalists who lament that Muslims are unsafe in India not see this mob mentality among Muslims in India ?
