Varanasi (UP) – ‘If it is proved in Court that the structure found in Gyanvapi mosque complex is Shivling, then Muslims should hand over the mosque to Hindus. This will prove to be the biggest example of Hindu-Muslim brotherhood’, BJP MLA and Minister of State Ravindra Jaiswal appealed.

Minister Jaiswal further said, ‘If a temple is demolished and a mosque is built at that place, then the prayers offered at such place are not accepted by Allah. Many such temples have been demolished in the country, due to which Hindus have been hurt. Such places should be handed over to Hindus by Muslim brothers.

Editorial Viewpoint

It is a well-known fact in history that the temple of Kashi Vishwanath was demolished and a Gyanvapi mosque was built there. Yet, for the last three and a half centuries, Muslims have not handed over this place to Hindus and even today they are going to Court to oppose it even after it has been proved through surveys. In such a situation, is it reasonable to expect such a gesture from them ?
