China  intends to keep the border issue alive : Army Chief General Manoj Pande

New Delhi – Army Chief General Manoj Pande stated that the Indian Army is sufficiently deployed at the key locations along the Line of Actual Control and is iron-willed to face any situation. The basic issue remains the resolution of the border and we notice that China intends to keep the border issue alive. “What we need as a country is a ‘whole of nation’ approach and in the military domain, this is to prevent and counter any attempt to alter the status quo at the LAC”.

General Pande further stated that the Indian troops are adequately deployed along the Line of Actual Control to deal with any situation. We aim to restore the status quo ante before April 2020. The troops have been told to remain firm and resolute in their tasks. Diplomatic and military talks between India and China resulted in the disengagement of troops in the north and south banks of Pangong Tso, Gogra, and Patrolling Point 14 (Galwan). We hope to find a resolution through dialogue in the remaining areas. The aim is to re-establish the trust and tranquillity between the two sides but asserted that it cannot be a one-way affair.
