
Dehradun (Uttarakhand) – A high-level committee will be set up for drafting Uniform Civil Code (UCC) when BJP assumes power in Uttarakhand. This committee will draft the UCC and thereafter the law will be implemented in the State, stated outgoing CM Pushkar Singh Dhami. BJP had promised implementation of UCC if elected, but Dhami lost the election.

Dhami said further that the high-level committee will consist of legal experts, intellectuals and retired officers. Once the UCC is passed, no one will suffer injustice. All will have equal rights.
