Congratulations to the Chief Minister of Karnataka for taking such a decision ! Hindu Temples should essentially be administered by devotees and not by the Government. If BJP Government in Karnataka can take such a decision, then other States in the country should also follow suit. |

Bengaluru (Karnataka) – Chief Minister of Karnataka Basavraj Bommai has taken a decision to free Hindu Temples in the State from Government control. Bommai informed that in the coming Budget Session, the law in that regard is going to be amended.

CM Bommai said that senior officers informed him that religious places of other faiths in the State are being secured and are being administered independently on account of various laws. Due to current laws, the temples need to take permission to spend money from the temple income with regard to some expenses incurred during the development of the temple. By removing such kind of control, the temples will be allowed to function independently.
