Blasphemy law should be passed in India : All India Muslim Personal Law Board

Editorial Comment

  • It has been proved many times that whenever the seats of faith of minorities are even indirectly insulted, religious fanatics take the law into their own hands; why is it not demanded that a law be passed to prevent and punish such law-breakers ?
  • With the passing of the Uniform Civil Code in India, it is feared that all the facilities being extended to the minorities with the money of majority Hindus will be stopped !

Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh) – “A blasphemy law should be passed in this country. Under this law, action should be taken against people who show disrespect to Prophet Mohammad and all things which are sacred as per Islam”, demanded All India Muslim Personal Law Board during a 2-day Conference held here. The Board also claimed that laws like Uniform Civil Code would be of no use in a country like India where there is religious diversity; therefore, it should not be thrust upon Muslims.

The proposed resolution presented in this Conference said that some Hindus, Sikhs and other highly educated non-Muslims have accepted the greatness of Prophet Mohammad. As per Islam’s teachings, Muslims should also avoid passing insulting comments against aspects that are sacred to non-Muslims. Some people openly insulted Prophet Mohammad, but the Government didn’t take any action against them, which is deplorable. Such a stand of fanatic factions is non-acceptable.

Venomous propagandas is being spread against Muslims for the past few years and malevolent matter is published on social media. Action must be taken against such media, said the Board.
