After the petition of HJS, the Law and Justice Ministry of UP sends a letter to Central Health Ministry asking for appropriate action

Lucknow (UP) – Mr Vishwanath Kulkarni, Co-ordinator of HJS for Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, had brought to the notice of Brijesh Pathak, Law and Justice Minister of Uttar Pradesh, that the attempts are going on for making Halal Certification mandatory. Mr Kulkarni had also submitted a petition asking for the prohibition of such practices. Now, acting on this Pathak has sent a letter to Central Health Ministry requesting action against the organisations issuing such certificates.

In the letter, Brijesh Pathak has written, “Some organisations are issuing Halal Certificates for meat, oil, spices, and sweets items without permission of the Indian Government; even though, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India issues certificates for food items. Keeping that in mind, the petition of Mr Kulkarni should be considered sympathetically, and appropriate action should be taken as per the law.”
