Unakoti (Tripura) –On Friday, 29th October, religious fanatics attacked the Mahakali temple in the Kailashahar area; they vandalised the murti, also damaged the temple.  The vandalism took place after a rumour “The mob set a mosque on fire.”  In another incident, Shivaji Sengupta, an office-bearer of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Paride, was attacked by activists of NSUI, a pro-Congress student body, and Trinamool Chhatra Parishad, a student wing of the Trinamool Congress. Sengupta was injured.

It is being said that Muslims were incited against Hindus in 1,100 mosques in the State on Friday. For the last few days, the Administration has imposed a curfew in the area under Section 144. (How do religious fanatics dare to commit such violence when there is a curfew ? Where were the Police at that time ? Despite the curfew, such an incident happens, then why should Hindus pay taxes and feed the Police ? – Editor)
