Churches should function as abodes of God, not places of war : Kerala High Court
|
Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) – ‘Church, being the abode of God, should not become a place of war. Factionalism in the Churches has to end’, said the Kerala High Court on a petition. Due to factionalism between the Orthodox Church and the Jacobite Church about following the Constitution, the Court gave this verdict considering the petition of Malankara Syrian Orthodox Church demanding Police protection during their religious services.
The Court said that everyone in the Malankara Syrian Church should abide by the Constitution, warning that the Court “Will not find any pleasure in sending Police or other forces to the Church to obey any orders, but if compelled, we may have to give such an order”.
