New Delhi – According to NCRB death statistics, on average, 112 people have died due to drug abuse every year in the last three years in the country. Death incidents occurring due to overdose of medicines have been reduced by 20%.

According to the statistics, from 2017 and 2019, in 3 years, a total of 102 people died due to drug addiction in Maharashtra.
According to the NCRB data, 125 people in 2017, 153 in 2018 and 60 in 2019 died in Rajasthan due to drug addiction. In Uttar Pradesh, 236 died due to drug addictions from 2017 to 2019; whereas, in Madhya Pradesh, this number is 140 in those 3 years.
