A decision to hand over a piece of land near Gyanvapi Masjid in Varanasi to Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust

Kashi Vishwanath Temple will give 1,000 sq ft to Gyanvapi Masjid in exchange

Varanasi – Anjuman Intezamia Committee that runs the Gyanvapi Masjid decided to hand over 1,700 sq ft land near the Gyanvapi Masjid to Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust. In exchange, Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust has decided to give 1,000 sq ft to the Muslim party. The new land will be used for building a Temple Corridor project. Presently, District Administration has its Police control room on that land.

This land on the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple campus was obstructing the expansion of the temple and the campus. Many times this issue came for discussion between Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust and the Gyanvapi Masjid party. In the discussion held recently, they agreed upon the handing over of the lands to each other. Hence, the lands were exchanged between the parties accordingly. Presently ‘Swayambhu Vishweshwar Mahadev is a Hindu party on behalf of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple, whereas the Anjuman Intezamia Committee and Sunni Central Waqf Board on behalf of Gyanvapi Masjid are fighting the case.
