New Delhi – The search giant Google had classified Kannada language as the ‘ugliest language from India’. Indians and Karnataka Government raised strong objection as a result, Google apologised. Google issued a statement, ’The Google search results do not reflect its opinion. It was a technical error’. When people typed ‘ugliest language of India in Google, Kannada language showed up on top.
Google has issued an apology after a search result showed Kannada to be India’s “ugliest language”.
Karnataka Minister Arvind Limbawali said that the concerned department had been instructed to give notice to Google.

Spokesperson of Google India said, “Search in the search engine is not always perfect. Sometimes, the way content is described on the internet can yield surprising results to specific queries. We know this is not ideal but we take swift corrective action when we are made aware of an issue. We are continually working to improve our algorithms. These are not reflective of the opinions of Google. Still we apologise for the misunderstanding and for hurting any sentiments”.
