Wipro’s clarification regarding the 'Corporate Jihad' case in Pune

Pune – Cases of ‘Conversion Jihad’ in the IT sector are coming to light. A former woman employee of the ‘Wipro’ company alleged at a press conference organized by the ‘Hindu Janajagruti Samiti’ that she was dismissed from her job for refusing to convert. Wipro has issued a clarification in this matter. ‘Wipro’ has said, ‘The welfare, dignity and respect of women employees are given utmost importance in our company. Any misconduct, discrimination, harassment, or any act that infringes upon an individual’s fundamental rights and freedoms has no place in the company. We are providing all possible assistance to the investigating agencies in this case. All documents have been submitted to the Police. We are unable to offer any further comments at this time as the matter is under investigation. We are committed to providing a safe environment to our employees.’
What is the case about?
While the victim was working in Wipro, she was subjected to immense psychological pressure to convert to Islam and have physical relations with a Muslim man. The victim firmly refused and complained to the management of the company; however, the management dismissed the victim from her job without taking action against the accused. No police case has been registered in the matter so far.
