Nashik (Maharashtra) – New information has emerged in the chargesheet relating to sexual harassment and forced religious conversion at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Nashik. According to the chargesheet, the accused deliberately conspired and targeted the victims. Female employees between the ages of 18 and 25 were targeted during the period from 2022 to 2026. One victim told the Police that she was shown videos of Pakistani cleric Tariq Jameel and Zakir Naik. According to the chargesheet submitted in a Nashik court last week, these videos were shown to provide the victims with information about Islam. The accused instructed the victim to stop listening to bhajans and visiting temples. They also told her that “Allah will forgive all sins”. Nine women employed at Tata Consultancy Services in Nashik lodged complaints with the Police in April. Since then, eight accused individuals have been arrested.

The chargesheet includes statements from 106 witnesses. These include the complainant, her mother, TCS employees, management personnel, members of the Internal Committee for Prevention of Sexual Harassment, and officers investigating the case.

According to the victim’s statement to the Police:

1. The accused exploited her vulnerabilities under the pretext of helping her cope with “mental stress”. One accused, Danish Sheikh, who was already married, sexually exploited her by promising marriage. When the victim became concerned about her future, the accused told her, “Do not be afraid. Have faith; Allah is with us. Stop listening to devotional songs and visiting temples; your stress will reduce.” He later asked her to recite Tasbih. (Tasbih refers to the recitation of praises of Allah.)

2. In the third FIR (First Information Report), the victim stated, “In December 2024, I was in the office when Shafi Sheikh came and sat near me under the pretext of work and deliberately tried to rub his leg against mine. Thereafter, he touched me inappropriately under the pretext of using my keypad. When I moved my chair away, he laughed and walked off. In February 2026, Tausif attempted to belittle my religion (Hindu Dharma). He said that Krishna married 16,000 women, which shows what kind of person Krishna was. He questioned whether Deity Shiv did not know that Ganesh was the son of Parvati. If he did not know, then how did Goddess Parvati have a son? Why did he sever Ganesh’s head?” (There is a profound spiritual and philosophical significance behind this episode in Hindu Dharma, which can never be understood by the superficial intellect of a jihadi mindset! – Editor)

Accused used to provide information about Islam to the victim

Danish had obtained complete details of her bank accounts and UPI PINs (digital payment credentials). Danish told the other accused, Tausif and Nida, to provide her with information about Islam. Consequently, Tausif and Nida would regularly speak to her about Islam.

Objectionable remarks about Hindu Deities

According to a complaint lodged at Mumbai Naka Police Station, she was subjected to sexual exploitation at the office from January to December 2025. The woman worked in handling complaints from credit card customers. She said, “Tausif Attar would portray his religion as superior and belittle Hindu Dharma. He used to say that the true God is one who is invisible. In Hindu Dharma, gods are visible; therefore, they are false.”

Targets were selected based on personal information

The accused selected targets on the basis of personal information relating to newly recruited employees. In particular, employees who were economically disadvantaged or facing family-related difficulties were targeted. The arrested HR (Human Resources) Manager, Ashwini Chenani, engaged in objectionable chats with Tausif Attar on 38 occasions, with Danish Sheikh once, and with Raza Memon on 22 occasions. When victim women complained against the accused, Ashwini deliberately ignored the complaints. Instead, she reprimanded the victim herself. The investigation also revealed that when victims were distressed, the HR manager would contact them, gain their trust, and gradually exert pressure on them to change their lifestyle.

WhatsApp group created

The accused had also created a WhatsApp group where they discussed targets and exchanged views on religious and company-related matters. The Police are also investigating this digital evidence.

Accused arrested so far

Those arrested so far include Asif Ansari, Shafi Sheikh, Shah Rukh Qureshi, Raza Memon, Tausif Attar and others. Ashwini Chenani has also been arrested. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) is investigating the entire case, and more than 12 potential victims have been identified.
