Pimpri-Chinchwad: A video claiming that goods bearing label ‘Made in Pakistan’ were being sold at the fair held near the Shri Moraya Gosavi Temple has gone viral. During the fair organised on Sankashti Chaturthi, a woman alleged that a bedsheet she purchased bore a ‘Made in Pakistan’ label. Expressing her anger, she said, “I do not live near the border; I live thousands of kilometres away from it, in Maharashtra, near Pune. Yet how can a ‘Made in Pakistan’ product be available here? This makes me extremely angry.”

The video has been spreading rapidly on social media. Notably, only a few days ago, three people were arrested in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar district for allegedly selling cosmetics bearing ‘Made in Pakistan’ labels. This has raised questions about the sale of pakistani products in local markets.
It is still unclear where exactly the bedsheet came from, whether it was officially imported, and what the vendor’s explanation is. No official information has yet been released on these aspects. The police have formed a special team to trace the source of the bedsheet and identify the person who sold it at the fair. They have also written to the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, directing it to take action against such vendors.
