New Delhi – No space is available in the crematoriums to perform the last rites of those dying due to corona in Uttar Pradesh. People have to wait several days to perform the last rites as the dead bodies are placed on a waiting list.
In Agra, people have to wait for three days in order to be able to perform the last rites on the dead in crematoriums. Since no place was available in the crematoriums in Agra, one person travelled 90 kilometres and performed the last rites of his father in Aligarh.
Delhi’s miserable condition
Amongst the five crematoriums in North Delhi, the condition of Seemapuri crematorium is worse. Since there was a shortage of 12 platforms to conduct the last rites, it was performed in the adjacent parking lot of the Delhi Municipality.
