
Kolkata – Firhad Hakim, a leader of the All India Trinamool Congress, has resigned from the post of Mayor of Kolkata. Hakim submitted his resignation to Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari. The party leadership has also dissolved all party committees.

Commenting on Hakim’s resignation, BJP leader Amit Malviya said that Firhad Hakim’s tenure represented the worst phase of appeasement politics. He added that Hakim’s departure marks the end of a divisive chapter in Kolkata’s administration.
