Tumakuru (Karnataka) – A delegation led by city MLA G. B. Jyotiganesh has demanded that the proposal to build a minority hostel on the land of a government school near Shri Ram Temple in K. R. Layout be withdrawn immediately. The delegation included BJP District President H S Ravishankar, District General Secretary T H Hanumantharaju, BJP City President T K Danush.

MLA Jyotiganesh said –

1.   This is an extremely sensitive issue and could affect law and order in the city. The district Administration should give serious thought to this and take immediate steps in view of maintaining peace, harmony and law and order, as this matter concerns the religious sentiments of the Hindus. The delegation made this demand while meeting Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. N. Tippeswamy.

2.   An official survey, demarcation and measurement of the entire land associated with Shri Ram Temple should be carried out immediately. temple property recorded in the documents of the Endowment Department and government records. Any new proposal to build a hostel for the minority in that area it should be cancelled immediately. The District Administration should take appropriate action to ensure that the land associated with the temple is used only for Hindu religious rituals and religious and cultural activities.
