Now we are at the ‘mercy of God’!

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) – The Gujarat High Court slammed the state Government with regard to the Corona situation. “Covid-19 positive patients are not getting beds and medicines. Now people have begun to feel we are at the ‘mercy of God’. There is a huge difference between the claims made by the Government regarding the remedial measures and the actual situation.” Advocate General Kamal Trivedi, appearing for the government, provided information regarding the remedial measures being undertaken by the Government. The Court has directed the Gujarat Government to provide a detailed report regarding the shortage of beds and medicines in hospitals.
- The High Court further observed, “In reality the situation is very different from the claims you make. The people are losing faith in the government. They are criticising the government that it is not doing anything. It is essential to stem this spread of infection.”
- The Court took the government to task while referencing media reports about the shortage of Remdesvir injection, “when people are in need of this medicine, why is that the injection which was available earlier in hospitals is not being made available now? Why has the government limited its stock availability? Despite the medicine being available the government is keeping a control over its supply. Why can’t people buy it? Make arrangements to make this medicine available at all places. Do not give us excuses but tell us solutions”.
