Haridwar – The Uttarakhand High Court has directed the state Government to conduct 50,000 Covid-19 tests per day during the Kumbh Mela which starts today. The court has directed that mobile medical facilities and qualified medical teams be deployed at all the parking lots and ghat areas. From April 1st SOPs will have to be followed strictly. Uttarakhand Government has made it mandatory for people coming to the Kumbh Mela to furnish negative RT-PCR test reports not older than 72 hours on arrival. Even devotees who have taken the COVID-19 vaccine will have to upload their certificates on an official portal. Coronavirus testing booths have been set up at the borders of Uttarakhand to conduct ‘rapid’ tests on devotees.
A day after the Uttarakhand HC passed an order that said the #KumbhMela should not be allowed to become a breeding ground for COVID-19, thousands took the auspicious #Ekadasi bath in the Ganges, many of them without a mask and COVID-19 negative report.https://t.co/KLaiB30S4i
