New Delhi – Farmers protesting the Government’s new agricultural laws said they have suspended plans for a march to the Parliament on 1st February. This decision was taken after incidents of violence marred their tractor rally in Delhi. Balbir Singh Rajewal of Bharatiya Kisan Union said, “We will hold nationwide rallies on behalf of the farmers movement on Martyr’s Day. We will also observe one day fasting.”
Rajewal accused the government of trying to sabotage the movement. He said, “the tractor procession was unsuccessful due to the government’s conspiracy. The government tried to create obstacles in the movement. 99.9 per cent protesters were peaceful. However some wrong things happened. Although the government created several obstacles for us, it was not successful in any way”.
