
Jerusalem (Israel) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s 29-years-old son Yair had tweeted very offensive picture of the Hindu goddess Shri Durgadevi and had insulted the Goddess. Indian citizens in Israel protested against it and demanded immediate removal of the tweet. In response, Yair removed the offensive picture and apologised to the Indians.

I’ve tweeted a meme from a satirical page, critizing political figures in Israel. I didn’t realize the meme also portrayed an image conected to the majestic Hindu faith. As soon as I realised it from comments of our Indian friends, I have removed the tweet. I apologize>>

Yair in his tweet had posted a picture of the Hindu Goddess Durga, with the face of Liat Ben Ari. Ari is the prosecutor in his father’s corruption cases. Yair said that,’ I had obtained this picture from a website and I was unaware that with such post Hindu’s religious sentiments will get hurt. As soon as I realised it from comments of our Indian friends, I have removed the tweet and apologised for the same’.
