Change in rules for sending recovered coronavirus patients home

New Delhi – The Ministry of Health, Government of India has relaxed the guidelines regarding sending recovered coronavirus patients’ home from hospitals. As per this decision, patients with very low, low and medium symptoms will be sent home without any test after 10 days of treatment, only if they do not have fever for 3 days in a row. These patients will have to follow quarantine at home for the period of 7 days. Medical tests will be mandatory for patients with serious health conditions, before they leave for home. This policy is adopted to make the sample test kits available for the patients with serious health condition.

Through a telephonic conversation medical organisation will inquire about the health of the patient after 14 days.  In case of symptoms like fever, cough or trouble in breathing reappears, patients are required to immediately contact the health department either in person or by telephone.
