Prayagraj – A total of 10 ‘Lost and Found Centres’ are operational in the Maha Kumbha Mela area to assist in locating missing persons. With over 40 crore devotees expected to visit the Maha Kumbha Mela and large crowds anticipated in many areas, finding a missing person could be extremely difficult. Considering this, the Government has set up these 10 centres.
Providing information about how these centres work, Manish Jha, Head of the ‘Lost and Found Centres’, told Sanatan Prabhat, “Anyone visiting the Kumbha Mela must carry at least one identity document, such as an Aadhaar card or voter ID, along with the contact number of their relatives. In case someone goes missing, we can use these details to reach out to their relatives, or their relatives can contact us, and we will locate the individual. Our 10 centres are interconnected and equipped with advanced AI technology. They are also linked to the large digital screens installed in the Maha Kumbha Mela area, enabling us to locate missing persons as quickly as possible. If a missing individual or their relatives visit our centre, we have separate arrangements for men and women to stay until the person is found.”
