Kolkata Mayor declared a ‘Kafir’ by Islamic Cleric for worshiping Deity Shiva

Why do the so-called secularists, progressives who are weakening Hindus by advising them to follow ‘Sarvadharmasamabhav’ (Equal respect for all religions) not speak against such a fatwa ? Do they mean that ‘secularism’ is to be followed by only Hindus ?

Kolkata – Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim was termed a ‘Kafir’ after he worshipped Deity Shiva during the Mahashivaratri festival recently. A fatwa to this effect was issued by Peer Syed Ibrahim Siddique, a veteran Islamic Cleric and one of the Headmen of influential Islamic shrine in Bengal, Furfura Sharif.

In a video, Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim, who is also a senior leader in Trinamool Congress Party and very close to Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, was seen participating in Mahashivaratri function in a Kolkata Shiva Temple and offering flowers, milk and water to Shivalinga.

This irked Peer Syed Ibrahim Siddique, who issued a directives to Muslims not to attend Hakim’s funeral prayer and not to allow his dead body in any Muslim graveyard. Furfura Sharif, an influential Bengali School of Islamic thought controls vast numbers of Bengali-speaking Muslims in Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, Assam, Tripura and Bangladesh.
