Peace to the mind and brain
There are 40 verses in Hanuman Chalisa. Most of them are written in Anushtup Chhanda. That is, they are rhythmic, repetitive and meditative. These hymns change the brain frequency from Beta waves to Alpha waves, which gives peace to the human mind and brain.
The body’s peace-keeping system is activated !
When we regularly recite shlokas like ‘Ramdoot Atulit Baldhama..’, its sound vibrations reduce the ‘cortisol’ i.e. the stress hormone in our body and increase ‘serotonin – dopamine’. This activates our body’s peace-keeping system and ‘parasympathetic’ system.
No heart attack and no other diseases
According to research by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and ‘AIIMS’ (All India Institute of Medical Sciences), reciting Hanuman Chalisa for 10 minutes every day helps in reducing heart rate, controlling blood pressure and getting sleep. It also provides relief from ‘post-traumatic stress disorder’, anxiety and ‘ADHD’ (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder).
Useful in controlling blood pressure!
According to a research conducted by Meera Goyal and her colleagues in the ‘Journal of Evolution of Medical and Dental Sciences’, 20 MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) students aged 18 to 22 years were found to have reduced their blood pressure after listening to Hanuman Chalisa for 10 minutes.
