The Police had to then burst teargas shells and resort to mild lathi charge to disperse the mob. Fifteen people have been arrested in this regard. Demolition as a last resort since Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC)’s notice was not heeded
Presently, a large Police force has been deployed in Kathe Galli area and there is calm though tension in the area. About 90% demolition work has been completed. The vehicular traffic from Kathe Galli to Bhabha Nagar has been diverted towards other roads. NMC had served fifteen days’ notice to remove the unauthorised structure of Sat-Peer dargah, but no action was taken by the concerned people; therefore, NMC had to take such action.
