BJP is defaming Bengal by showing fake videos : Mamata Banerjee

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made these accusations about Bengal violence during a meeting with imams

Kolkata (Bengal) – “Some media channels funded by BJP showed 8 videos from Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Rajasthan, falsely claiming that these incidents happened in Bengal in an attempt to defame the State. Fake news is being spread. BJP brought in outsiders to cause the violence. Muslims were provoked using the Waqf issue. The violence in Murshidabad was a pre-planned conspiracy. Why were Bangladeshi infiltrators allowed into Bengal?” said Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing BJP. “I fold my hands before the imams and appeal for peace. I also call upon the INDIA alliance to unite on this issue. This will affect everyone. We want peace,” she said, addressing a gathering of imams.

We will not allow division between Hindus and Muslims

Mamata Banerjee further said, “We will not allow any division between Hindus and Muslims. Why are Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu silent on the Waqf Act? These people only care about power.”

Imams should not fall into BJP’s trap

“I respect all imams and religious leaders. We believe in the ideology of Rabindranath Tagore. Do not fall into BJP’s trap to incite violence in Bengal. If you have something to say, come and say it to me directly, not behind my back,” Mamata Banerjee appealed.

Trinamool Congress has no role in the violence

If my party were responsible for the violence, then the homes of our own party leaders would not have been attacked. The Government has always opposed Waqf reform laws and is committed to addressing the concerns of Muslims.

BJP had planned to incite riots on Ramnavami – Mamata Banerjee

Mamata Banerjee alleged, “The BJP had planned to incite riots on the day of Ramnavami, but the people thwarted that plan. Every community has traitors who sell themselves for money. Why is the Indian Government in such a hurry ? Who does not know the situation in Bangladesh ? You hold secret meetings with Muhammad Yunus, what exactly is your plan ?”

“Prime Minister Modi cannot transform India. BJP is trying to polarise Bengal. I go to offer namaz every year on Eid at Red Road,” said Mamata Banerjee.
