There are so many pending schemes beneficial for the country, but due to lack of funds, these are not being implemented. If the Government had diverted JNU’s funds to these schemes, the country would have benefited. If subsidy is being used for creating anti-nationals, the nationalists expect that the Government immediately stops such funding.
The anti-national activities in JNU are well-known. It is beyond comprehension why the Government is still funding JNU with crores of Rupees. What is the output of funding such Universities ? The Government and administration should investigate this matter for the welfare of the country.
New Delhi – Prafful Sarda, a Pune-based Right to Information (RTI) activist has revealed that during Congress-led Government, JNU received a subsidy of Rs. 207 crore during 2000-01, while between 2004-05 to 2013-14 the university received Rs. 1,372 crore. But in the last five years of the BJP Government, JNU received a subsidy of Rs. 1,515 crore. The RTI reveals that from 2000-01 to 2018-19, the total amount of subsidy paid by the Central and State Government to JNU is around Rs. 3,094 crore and JNU was handed over assets worth Rs. 500 crore.
Sarda claims that JNU would be also one of the world’s cheapest hostel accommodation. According to the RTI data, the admission fee for the hostel is Rs. 5 and hostel establishment fees is Rs. 1,100 per semester. Despite huge subsidy and funds, we hear alleged anti-national slogans at JNU which is not acceptable. Close JNU for some days ! : BJP MP Virendra Singh
BJP MP Virendra Singh claimed that anti-national issues are taking place within the JNU run by public funding. He stated that issues that Mohammad Ali Jinnah had executed before the Independence, were taking place in JNU. The opposition too is doing the same things. Therefore, JNU needs to be closed for some days and the incidents there need to be investigated, said Singh. (Nationalists now expect that the Government will take a note of their own MP’s demand and close down JNU forever ! – Editor)
