Accused in the Murder of Hindutva Activist Praveen Nettaru Granted Interim Bail!

Mangaluru (Karnataka) – One of the main accused in the murder of Hindutva activist and Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) leader Praveen Nettaru, who was killed on July 26, 2022, has been granted interim bail by the Karnataka High Court. The accused, Zakir Savanur (35), is the 18th accused in the case. He was one among those directly involved in the conspiracy to murder Nettaru.

Zakir was arrested by the police on July 28, 2022, along with Shafiq from Bellare. Earlier, H.Y. Riyaz of Somwarpet, the 26th accused in the case, had been granted bail. He had been arrested on charges of providing shelter to the accused involved in the case.

On July 26, 2022, Praveen Nettaru was murdered by some jihadi Muslims who attacked him with deadly weapons outside Akshaya Chicken Centre in Bellare, Karnataka.
