Washington DC (USA) – US President Donald Trump said that if Iran had possessed nuclear weapons, Israel would no longer exist. He was speaking at a press conference held in his office.
Trump further said,
1. A nuclear-armed Iran would pose a major threat to Israel as well as to the entire region. The United States is closely monitoring the situation, and military action will continue if necessary.
2. Although progress is being made in the ongoing discussions between the United States and Iran, Iran is engaging in deception.
3. The United States has previously carried out attacks on Iran, and military operations may continue in the future. In the backdrop of alleged attacks on American military bases and the downing of an Apache helicopter, the United States has the right to undertake retaliatory action.
Trump criticises previous US administrations
On this occasion, Trump also criticised previous American governments. He said that earlier administrations in the United States had failed to make decisions that served America’s interests.
