Appeal by Jammu-Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir

Islamabad (Pakistan) – The Government is adopting inhumane methods to suppress the anti-government movement in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Amid this, Sardar Aman Khan, a senior member of the Jammu-Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee, has released a video message urging people to participate in the movement. He has also appealed to Indian citizens, especially the people of Kashmir, to support the movement.

In the video, Sardar Aman Khan said,
1. “For demanding our fundamental rights, the people of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir have been subjected to oppression, injustice, massacre and military aggression.
2. During this extremely difficult period, our supplies of food and medicines have been blocked.
3. We appeal to everyone across the border, especially the people of Srinagar, Poonch, Mendhar, Rajouri, Jammu, the Kashmir Valley, Ladakh and Kargil. We need your support for our movement. You must come forward and raise your voice for our rights.”
Had raised the issue earlier as well
Earlier, on 30th June, the organisation had strongly condemned the oppressive actions of the Pakistani authorities and staged a major protest. The committee had alleged that the administration had not only imposed restrictions on political activities but had also severely disrupted the supply of food grains across the entire region and imposed strict restrictions on their distribution to the people. It had alleged that this had exposed the Government’s true face.
Protest outside the United Nations office
On 2nd July, the ‘National Anti-Terrorism Front of India’ staged a strong protest outside the United Nations office against the growing humanitarian crisis and human rights violations in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The protesters demanded immediate global intervention to stop the killings and systematic violations of human rights in the region.
